LONDON - Prince Azim of Brunei ruler son, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah hosted lavish parties attended by Hollywood stars and celebrities, a newspaper said yesterday.
According to a local florist, bills for various types of flowers sent to the party is by £ 70,000 (RM410, 766).
However, a number of class A celebrities attended the party, held at Stapleford Park Hotel in Leicestershire House owned by Prince Azim mother, Mariam Aziz, former wife of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.
Among the celebrities who are believed to be present in the party is Sophia Loren, Faye Dunaway, Ursula Andress and Joan Collins. Other guests included Jerry Hall, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson. The party held recently was attended by 230 guests.
Singers who do show is Chaka Khan and the jazz group Incognito.
According to Vass flower shop management, 12 employees are required to prepare and send flowers to cost a total of £ 70,000.
However, a spokesman for Prince Azim of Jeff Allen denied the flower prices reaching up to £ 70,000 and regard it as inaccurate.
The spokesman also denied that a celebrity paid to attend the party.
However, Allen confirmed some of our guests are given free tickets but not first class.
Also present in the party is the younger sister of Prince Azim Prince Mateen, Azemah Princess and Princess Fadzillah.
Consider council's spokesman is a family party and denied it as a waste.
Allen declined to reveal the cost of the party but said: "It was a great party and everyone was happy.
